Dsquared2’s first co-ed fashion show for Fall Winter 2017 debuts a special co-branding project with iconic outerwear label K-Way®. Channeling Dsquared2’s design signature of mixing juxtaposing styles, the capsule collection melds the brand’s sophistication and contemporary luxury sportswear design with K-Way®’s casual attitude and functionality. A wardrobe staple since it was invented by Leon-Claude Duhamel in 1965, K-Way®’s unisex nylon sporty jacket is the timeless modern raincoat. The co-branding collaboration marked its launch with selected pieces on Dsquared2’s runway. Designed as co-ed jackets for men and women — in the spirit of the Fall Winter 2017 collection seen on the runway—the windbreakers, anoraks and down bomber jackets are reversible and constructed so they are easy to fold. Each piece reveals the iconography of both brands, designed by Dean and Dan Caten as unique statements of glamorous sportswear. The styles strike a balance between refined and playful; and spontaneous and bold. K-Way®’s zippers, pullers and logo are magnified to macro form on the oversized lineup, which is cast in a bold, sporty color palette including orange, red, yellow and black. Other jackets feature embroidered patches or red-and black Buffalo check, inspired by trekking and hiking in Canada, and a fields of flower print is borrowed from Dsquared2’s Fall Winter 2017 collection. “The collaboration with K-Way® is an amazing opportunity for us to work for such an iconic brand. We are excited about the creative synergy the project has sparked, together, both brands are making a unique contemporary statement, Details are deliberately oversized, like the zips, and the fabrics and finishings are unexpectedly interchangeable. The capsule collection will be launched july 2017.
